The last time I did a post about a place that featured in a video game, it was LA.
This time, I want to go to: Cappadocia in Turkey.
The game Cappadocia appeared in was none other than Shadow Hearts: Covenant (which I have of course reviewed). The game featured Goreme Valley which is within Cappadocia. The Valley itself doesn’t play much of a role, but it’s filled with nice scenes of caves and the characters all sleep in what is essentially a cave hotel.
That’s what I want to do. I saw this awesome website that has some really beautiful images of the rooms and the surrounding area.
Whether it be this hotel or another (Cappadocia is full of cave hotels apparently – ideally I’d love one in Goreme, but I’m not picky!) I’d love to stay in a cave hotel. It’s so quirky and reminds me of a game I really enjoy (what a nerd). I believe they also have nightclubs and restaurants in caves. Here’s a cool restaurant I stumbled upon.
Now, some photos:
Apparently it doesn’t often get much higher than 30 degrees C in the peak of summer, which suits me fine. If it was hot, it would be a dry heat, which suits me as well. Being very um. Cave-y, it would be hot during the day but cold at night – I can handle that!
I’m surprised that it actually snows in winter and has pretty mild summers, it being so far south (for a British person anyway).
The main issue is, I’d have to fly to Istanbul first and then either fly or train to somewhere within the region. I suppose it could be done with good enough planning. I’ve never been to Turkey before so would be a little worried about upsetting the culture within, but maybe I shouldn’t worry.
Has anyone else been to this region? I’d love to hear recommendations!

Awesome place that is on our wish list to go too! Must be the cave-men (or is there anything like cave-women?) in us, right? *giggles*
Such an odd place, which of course makes us wanna explore it just because that! We simply love odd places and experiences! Though I’m not so sure about liking the cold nights in a cave… Of course, I have hubby to keep me warm

Lifecruiser Travel recently posted..How we escaped from a cruise and ended up in jail… Part 2
Exactly – cold nights + other person = good, right?
